As in “Down.on the Trail” because today we went out walking and saw this:
Burton’s Legless Lizard...40 cm or so of completely harmless beauty
Harmless unless you are a cockroach or small skink
..on our way down from this:
A boy on a hill in Australia
It was a fine family day out. The lizard was just a lovely bonus.

I just yesterday found out these existed, and here you post a picture of one like 15 hours later. Crazy how the world works.

Nice! We caught this little guy slithering around our backyard last week.
Western groundsnake. Completely harmless and helps with pest control (like all snakes).
